Reporting Potential Abuse and Neglect:

For children:

Call the 24-hour Child Abuse Hotline at 800-25-ABUSE (800-252-2873 or TTY 1-800-358-5117) if you                    suspect that a child has been harmed or is at risk of being harmed by abuse or neglect. If you believe                          a child is in immediate danger of harm, call 911 first.

For elderly adults & adults with disabilities:

To report suspected abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of an older person or a person with disabilities age 18-59 call the statewide, 24-hour Adult Protective Services Hotline: 1-866-800-1409, 1-888-206-1327 (TTY).


Prioritization for Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS):

PUNS is a statewide database for individuals withdevelopmental disabilities who are potentially in need of services. Click here for more information.


Illinois Waiver Programs that pay for respite:

Categories:

  • Children and adults with developmental disabilities
  • Persons with brain injury
  • Children who are medically fragile & technologically dependent
  • Persons with HIV or AIDS
  • Persons who are elderly
  • Persons with disabilities
